A peaceful setting gives rise to an open and calm mind. If we’re lucky.

Are calmness and clarity of thought our birthright? If they are, why aren’t they there for us more often? How easy is it to feel calm when your car’s clamped, it’s raining and you want to go home?

Our course in Practical Philosophy, held one evening a week for ten weeks, provides a setting where you can explore questions like these, and ways of tackling them.

The key reference point is that most powerful of teachers, our own experience. Sessions are designed to help course participants see for themselves, without a text book in sight, the underlying philosophical principles evident in their own daily lives.

A clearer view of such principles can help anyone who genuinely wishes it lead a richer, less stressful, more centred, life.

Elsewhere on this site you can hear some comments on the course from previous participants, see the course outline and learn more from the FAQs section. The next course starts early in the New Year in various locations in Kent. The fee is £70 (concessions available). See exact start dates and addresses, and enrol online.
